Weekly WIP #1

ども皆さん!

I will begin cataloging the week's work-in-progress items every Sunday that I don't do monthly development log. I think it's a good way to track progress as well as a way for me to step back and review what I've done, and refocus what I need to do for the week ahead. This is also a good opportunity to introduce you guys my original character and mascot - Yumei. She'll be presenting screenshots, video clips and sneak peeks with some additional comments. Take it away, Yumei.

"Ossu! My name is Yumei, and I hope we will get along well!"

"This week has been... a slow week. Ha ha. Drweam has been experimenting with shaders and making everything nice and shiny. Honestly, I don't know what this is, but Drweam says to show this so here we go."

"Whatever the chart stuff is, it produces some nice looking fire!"

"Drweam has also been working on adding a nice glowy highlight around characters. It shows up when you hover your mouse over the characters during battle."

"Drweam also said something about 'contextual highlighting'... I think I'll let Drweam explain."

Right. So contextual highlighting is when the game determines what the player is trying to do and highlight the characters accordingly. For example, Marine's Anchor Drop skill (1st skill) can only target enemies in the middle positions, so when hovering your mouse over an enemy in those positions (2 or 3), with the skill selected, a red outline will appear as per normal. However, hovering an enemy at any other positions, or non-targetable characters (like allies), a faint grey outline will appear instead.

Similarly, if the player has selected a skill that will target multiple characters, the game will highlight all characters that will be affected by the skill.

"Ha ha... I can't understand all these video game mumbo jumbo. All I know is that, it looks cooler now!"

"Drweam has also been working on adding more monster content. Nothing solid to show yet, but I've seen it. They look rough. Ha ha! Anyway, that's all for this week. A pretty short update. I hope you guys like what you've seen. Thanks for having me, and see you next week!"
